Scottish

A great turnout to great races on a great day for Scottish. We had 81 finishers in the running races and made up six of the 26 walkers out on the road.

Top placings went to Tim Hodge and Ben Christophers, first and second in the M19 event. Big improver Phil Sadgrove took out the masters men's event. Ilandre Bester was second in the W19 race. Melissa Moon was second in the open women's race, at the head of a swarm of Scottish women. For the W35, Michele Allison and Robyn Stansfield were fourth and fifth. As for the J-team, Florence Reynolds was second in the G13 race, while Malcolm Hodge was fifth in the B13 race.

In the senior men, Scottish took seven of the top 10 places, led by the Scottish trifecta of Craig Kirkwood, Nick Buck and Glenn Hughes.

Peter Baillie won the 15k road walk, with Manawatü's Kevin Waters second. Rupert Watson won the 10k walk.

Perhaps by the next interclub, we'll have enough uniforms for our newer members to appear as Scottish members. Several people have told me that times in the lower quarter of the women's race are awry.
