Belvedere Relays, 5k west of Carterton, 20 September 2003

The Scottish under-20 men's team posted a course record for their grade. They were one of six Scottish teams participating in this country relay. Strong support for the event came from Valleys United and Wellington Harriers.

Race organiser Ray Wallis is floating the possibility of holding an Ekiden (42k) relay next year over flat country roads in the area.

In the absence of the J-team, we all started at 2pm for the 3x7k relay. Runners enjoyed the occasional gust of wind, but generally the day was overcast and still and the air pungent with the smell of dairy herds. The event received sponsorship and support from Athletics Carterton, the Carterton District Council, and local businesses (Colour Centre Masterton, New World Masterton, Paua Shell Shop).
