Brooks Waterfront 5k Series, 16 February 2010

The weather was again excellent tonight for the Brooks 5km Waterfront race, with light winds and warm conditions for the 81 competitors. However, challenges with the course continue. This week we had to detour around the other side of Waitangi Park due to a marque being set up in the area where the course normally runs. The times from tonight suggest the course may have been about 50m longer than usual.

Brian Garmonsway returned to his winning ways tonight, with a narrow victory in 16min 40sec over last week's winner Jason Waite. Olympian Nyla Carroll was again first female finished with a time of 17min 26sec. Tim Dutton (28.32) and Terri Grimmett (31.57) again won the walkers' race.

Participation competition
