Brooks Waterfront 5k Series, 1 September 2009

A record 143 keen runners and walkers fronted for the 5th Brooks Waterfront 5k, continuing the excellent start for the new season. Yet another strong northerly made for a tough battle over the last km in particular.

Our current yellow shirt holders all fronted tonight and all won, meaning no new Brooks yellow shirts were awarded tonight. Hamish Carson had an outstanding run tonight, winning in a very fast 15:16. He reached halfway in 7:24, so our first ever sub-15min time must be on the cards when the weather plays it part.

Olympian Nyla Carroll clocked up another win. Her time of 18:03 was her best time in the series so far. Tim Dutton (28:42) and Terri Grimmett (31:09) led the walkers home, both excellent times for the conditions.

Keep an eye and ear out for details of our participation prize. We are working on a prize pack for the our most regular attendees.
