Brooks Waterfront 5k Series, 2 March 2010

By Todd Stevens

The wind was back tonight for the Brooks 5km Waterfront race, with a strong northerly wind providing an extra challenge for the 72 competitors.

Thomas Bridgeman was first home, just 1 sec ahead of Matt Rogers. Thomas clocked 16min 41sec for a personal best time (who said it was windy?!). Steph Pearson was first female, also clocking a PB time with 19min 04sec. Tim Dutton (28.39) and Terri Grimmett (31.42) again won the walkers' race in good times.

Our sponsors Brooks, Lifestyle Sports in Tawa and The Loaded Hog continue to support our races and deserve your support in return.

Thanks to our friends at Olympic Harriers for providing the officials for tonight's race.

Participation competition

As an added incentive to your training we can announce the return of the popular Participation Competition.

If you compete in at least six events throughout the series ending on 6 April 2010, you will go into a draw for a range of great prizes.

So what are you waiting for? Put on those running/walking shoes and come and join us on the Waterfront - be part of the movement.

Our regular weekly spot prizes from Brooks, Lifestyle Sports and the Loaded Hog will also continue. A Brooks shoe voucher will also be handed out soon.

And remember, all participants are rewarded for their efforts with a thirst-quenching free drink at the Loaded Hog.
