Brooks Waterfront 5k Series, 9 March 2010

72 competitors were greeted by warm conditions and blue sky, with only a light breeze, for the Brooks Waterfront 5k race on 9 March. There were some close battles for the wins tonight, with Jason Waite (16min 22sec) just beating previous winners Brian Garmonsway and Jamie Stewart, while Sarah Paterson (20min 1sec) had three other women within 17sec of her. Tim Dutton (28min 27sec) and Terri Grimmett (31min 23sec) continued their impressive string of walking victories.

Participation competition 

As an added incentive to your training note the return of the popular participation competition. If you compete in at least six events between the beginning of February and the end of the series on 6 April 2010, you will go into a draw for a range of great prizes. So what are you waiting for? Put on those running/walking shoes and come and join us on the Waterfront - be part of the movement. And remember, all participants are rewarded for their efforts with a thirst-quenching free drink at the Loaded Hog.
