Club Prize-giving 2006, Loaded Hog, 14 October 2006

Club champions for 2006 are Leanne Palmer and Peter Baillie (walking), Helen Anderson and Glenn Hughes (running).

The ceremony saw new trophies presented by David Lonsdale (The Island Bay Award for promoting walking to Bart Jones, the Albert Rowland Trophy to club champion Peter Baillie and the David Lonsdale Trophy to club champion Leanne Palmer). These trophies commemorate David's 40 years of membership in Scottish. David first ran with Scottish on 16 April 1966. Albert Rowland was the club's first secretary and a walking Olympian. The first club meeting took place in Island Bay on 24 April 1915.

Steve Plowman presented the new Valued Services Trophy to Paul Rodway for his work on the website. Stu Beresford awarded the new Hard Man Cup to P-team World Mountain Champion for 2006, Rohan Biggs.

In addition, Peter Wrigley presented Bernie Portenski with her membership to the 100 Marathon Club. Bernie's marathon in Rotorua this year marked her 100th race over 42k.
