The Loaded Hog Logo A great turnout of 88 participants to start the 2006 series of races - and to all, a huge apology for my lateness at registration time (due to huge traffic issues around town and on Oriental Bay when trying to set up the course). Thank you all for your patience and understanding.

So on to race details then - well done to Richard Jones, a young Scottish athlete presently studying at Providence University in the US and back home in Welly for a short duration. His time of 16:38 was about a minute and a half ahead of the next finisher. Fastest woman was Lotty Baldrey with an excellent time of 18:46 (possibly a PB on the proper 5k course).

Ian Morton was fastest race walker in a time of 30:26 (also a PB, I think, for Ian) with Lynn Broad fastest woman - recording a time just a tick over 33 minutes (33:01).

Thanks especially to Kathryn Fraser and Dan Powell for officiating and keeping the registration process moving until my arrival.

Great also to have a huge number of new participants receive The Loaded Hog spot prizes - all seemed well received - as was the Lifestyle Sportsweekly voucher (all thanks to guest selector cum bag minder Zachary Kerr).

The next race for us is Tuesday, 24 January 2006, with registrations from 5:30pm (promise!!). See you there.
