The Loaded Hog 5k Series 1 - Race 8, 27 September 2005

The Loaded Hog LogoWell, it had to happen once in the series - wind and rain together. John Hines led the walkers back into the northerly with a finish time of 33:36. A minute and a half later came Lynn Broad. (I hope we have the runners and walkers sorted - a bunch arrived after the early start and so I didn't get their numbers.)

In the run, Stephen Day crossed first in 17:11, with Niels Madsen in hot pursuit. Michelle Hopkins was first woman (18:41), with Lotty Baldrey second.

That's it for the first Loaded Hog 5k Series ever in Wellington. Next Tuesday, at the same place and times, we move seemlessly into the second series. Thanks to you for making the Series I such a success. Thanks to Loaded Hog and Lifestyle Sports and the other sponsors. And a final thanks to all the helpers.

Rowan Greig's Picks

. . . where Rowan loses the battle with failing light, and comes up with some arty phish-eye photos.

Bruce Lake looking confident before the start. Those with a trained eye may notice that Bruce’s legs look a little shorter than usual and may indeed think it is because of all the training he has done for the Nat Road Relay. Well it’s true.

Coach Kevin Ross trying to hide from the camera (as usual).

Emily Solsberg was curious if the camera could get any closer. Well heaps actually.

Diane Morgan – happy to pose for a photo when everybody has else fled.
