The end of a perfect, but cool, day where the forecast for rain was wrong. In the race walk, Maryanne Palmer finished ahead of her partner John. Junior runner Adam Carlson kept out late starter Sarah Christie by eight seconds.
It was good to see the family groupings in the event: Look for the father and son Blacklaws and Reynolds, and the Robertson trio - dad John with Tim and Laura leading him home.
