Magills 5k Fun Run and Walk, Race 2, Thorndon, 11 March 2003

James Hurring and Amelia De Lorenzo occupied the first two places in the walk with times around 26 minutes, as they did last week. They are off to the National Track and Field Championships in Dunedin the weekend after next.

The runners were led home by Simon Knowles (17:06) and Chris Martin (17:13). Michele Allison's 19:07 gave her first place among the women runners, with Allison Henderson second at just over 20 minutes.

A light southerly was in the faces of the returning runners and walkers. Otherwise a beautiful night with a hint of autumn in the air.

Please support our sponsors: Magills, BodyWorks and Lifestyle Sports. See you next week. Don't forget that walkers start at 5:45 and runners at 6:00.  Allow time to register and cover the 500m to the start.
