Second week back for the waterfront 5k, and another blustery North-wester - but that did not deter 122 Wellington Runners and Walkers for joining us on the waterfront last night. Congrats to you all! (And thank you!)
We have 53 new participants for the season tonight, 24 of them first time to the Waterfront 5k - So welcome for the first time, or welcome back to you all.
Excluding the new runners tonight we had 41 runners & walkers set Season PBs tonight (ie you went quicker than last week) - and out of those 41, 16 of them set Waterfront Lifetime PBs - Congrats!
Imagine what could happen when we have a still calm evening!
We have three runners still unidentifed from last night - if you (or knew who ) ran with Bibs 181, 185 or 197 - drop us an email so we can fix their results.
Top three Men on course tonight were Ben Twyman (in 16:49) ahead last weeks Top 3 of Dan Hunt, Simon Wills & Matt Winthrop.
On the ladies side tonight top three were Amanda Broughton (in 18:35) followed by Ange Penberthy, and Sarah Fountain.
The first walker home was Daniel Du Toit in 27:26 and Jacqueline Wilson (for the 2nd week in a row) was the first Women walker home in 32:00.
Congratulations to all who took part tonight we look forward to seeing you all again this summer.
And do go to our Facebook page and check out the photos from last night - Sharon got a huge number of shots of everyone having fun out on the waterfront!
We hope the Pacers from Scottish were a motivation and helped you get through to a goal time possibly - we did notice a few of you hanging onto their heels as they crossed the line. And all did well in these conditions last night to get within seconds of their pacing timers. - So thank you Rowan, Harry, Josh, Niam & Jess. If you would like pacers of different times, let us know. and we will see what Scottish can arrange. They are planning to have at least 3 pacers most nights, and they will set the pace times based on requests (and who is available).
Also a big thanks to the Management team from the Scottish Athletics for the help last night (for the second week in a row), saving the rest of the club helpers from the manic first couple of weeks!
Thanks to Macs Brewbar for the use of their area as our registration and prizegiving location. And for those participants that made use of the location post run to relax and socialise.
If you have any feedback / questions on the results or the event in general - please feel free to drop us an email (@ email@example.com)
Again thank you all! - That was, yet again, an amazing turn out last night!
