  • 650.000 USD
  • 550 m2
  • 5 rooms
  • 2 baths
4.8km sealed handicap race run on the roads around Island Bay.

The Club's historic Island Bay race will see a couple of changes this year. Firstly, the starting point of the race will be moved to the south end of Island Bay, near Cliff House. The house was the venue of the club's first run almost 100 years ago to the day. Secondly, the Le Gaye Cup will be replaced with a new cup, The Centennial Cup. The cup is awarded to first place on handicap. The historic Le Gaye Cup has unfortunately reached the end of its useful life, and like all good runners will retire to pasture. There is no longer room left to engrave new names and some corrosion means the cup has seen better days. Some things don't change ... like afternoon tea generously provided by Don Dalgliesh at the Presbyterian Church.
