47 runners and walkers lined up n perfect conditions for the first of this seasons Saturday morning 5k and 10k waterfront races. With temperatures in the mid teens, no wind and few pedestrians, conditions were ideal for fast times. Giving proof to this was Tony Wolken who rose to the challenge to take a full minute of his 10k PB! Other runners were using it as a paced training event while for one or two it was their first run in anything like race conditions.
For the record, Andy Ford was first home in the 5k, with Leeane Palmer taking the equivalent honours for the walkers. Nick Horspool was quickest of the 10k runners, with Peter Baillie the fastest of the 10k walkers.
Thanks to Don Stevens, Marshall Clark, Natalie Hardaker, James Turner and his daughter and her friends for helping officiate.
