The new season starts next month. There are runs from the clubhouse on Saturdays 12, 19 and 26 March at 2pm. We welcome new people to the club and encourage them to join us. Scottish Crèche will also be operating from 19th of March, see below for more details.
Our club is for anyone who runs/walks, or would like to run, it's about the value you can get running with a group of like-footed people.
We meet on Saturdays for training run's and share a cup of tea and bikkie afterwards.
Why you could join:
"We are just about to start our new season and it would be great if you wanted to come along and meet us and see if you would like to be part of our team."
"Do you have any big races coming up or running goals that we could help you achieve? We have got a team of great runners (and coaches) that could support you."
"Wellington Scottish is New Zealand's biggest running club and one of its most successful. We are also a friendly club. With about 300 members, we cater for all people from ages 5 to 83, social runners and walkers as well as international athletes."
"We have people who can help you meet any of your running goals. We have club members who love 60-metre sprints and people who love ultra-marathons in the wilderness. We have roadrunners, and people who love the cross country mud. We have people who run for fitness or weight loss, and we have people who love competitions and races. We definitely have something you will enjoy, as well as many friendly people who share your love of running."
There are dozens of diverse races around Wellington, regular training with people who share your interest, coaching advice and support, and the chance to be part of some fun relay teams. Being part of a club means you are more likely to meet your fitness or racing goals, make friends and enjoy new challenges.
Scottish Crèche 2016 Season - 19th of March
We would like to operate a crèche those Saturday afternoons when the Club Run is at the clubrooms.
You could leave your child at the crèche while you and your partner run or you run and your partner gets some much needed free time.
Caitlin Hearfield who has been employed in the past to manage the crèche is available to look after your children while you run. Caitlin has over 10 years babysitting experience and is currently training for a degree in Early Childhood Education. Caitlin has been MOJ criminal record checked on multiple occasions and is First Aid certified.
The cost of the crèche is $5.00 per child and $10 per family.
* Limit of 6 children per session.
* Parents are able to pre-book by email or txt (preferably no phone calls please)
* Bookings on the day are welcome.
* Children must be over two years.
* Most days, children at the crèche will stay upstairs in the club house.
* Crèche will run for two hours from 1:45pm (before runs begin at 2pm) and goes until around 3:45pm in order to allow the children to stay in the crèche while parents shower after their runs.
Please contact Karen Gillespie on 021 1544228 or 4797711 (in the evenings or weekends) if you are interested.
