Upcoming events

Wellington Cross Country Championships, Grenada North, 20 July

  • This is free for club members - just turn up on the day. A mixture of flat and undulating cross country course with climbs and jumps. This course is suitable for spikes. The course is made up of 2km laps similar to those used in 2018 for both the Wellington and NZ Champs. However, if rain makes parts of the course muddy, then the course is likely to be modified to avoid any particularly muddy sections. This may reduce the length of each lap and consequently increase the number of laps for each race. Any course changes will be notified as soon as possible via social media and via email.
  • Adults can race either 5km or 10km, but the championship distance for SW, SM, MW35, MM35 and MM50 is 10km, and the championship distance for MW50, MW60, MM60, MW70 and MM70 is 5km.

NZ Road Relays, Feilding, 4-6 October

  • The New Zealand Road Relays are the highlight of the year and this year they are in Feilding on 5 October. Scottish organises transport to and from Feilding/Palmerston North and around the race, race entry, accommodation and dinner on Saturday night. We subsidise the cost for everyone significantly. So that you pay a flat fee of $190 if you are competing or $150 if you are a supporter. Marshall has booked out the entire Distinction Hotel in Palmerston North for us, plus some nearby motel rooms as well. We have also, this week, received a grant from the Lion Foundation for $4000, which is helping reduce the cost of the weekend for each of us.
