Tanadees Cup 2017 results and report

8km club handicap race

The southerly hit us 30 minutes before race time, but the rain had stopped by the time most of us headed out, so apart from a slight headwind on the final 3km stretch, conditions were pretty good. About 50 runners started, with 43 finishing (6 from Vic Uni)

First on handicap and winner of the enormous Tanadees Trophy was Liam Harker, who was well clear of 2nd placed Scottish male John Howell (although John was actually 4th across the line behind 2nd and 3rd place finishers, Greg and Tom from Vic Uni).

Winner of the Awkright Trophy for first female on handicap was Kate Slater, just ahead of women's captain Lindsay Barwick.

Fastest runner on the day was Olympian Hamish Carson who averaged an awesome 3.02/km (!), ahead of Daniel Jones and Stephen Day - it was great to see Hamish and a couple of our other quickest guys turn up!
