Good conditions for the annual dash around the Battle Hill Farm - firm underfoot, a northerly to blow you home, scraps of sun.   Scottish won the senior men's, masters women's, masters men's and junior men's races.  That's a best-ever effort (at least in Todd's living memory). The club picked up a second in the junior women's race, a second in the junior men's, and a third in the open women's. 

Scottish fielded 30 teams, a record for the club in recent years.  For many of our runners, this was their first brush with cross country.

Race of the day was in the masters men, where it seemed that the top three teams were within 15 seconds of each other at the finish (after covering 12.6k) and Dave Hatfield took the lead in the home straight to win by eight seconds over Kapiti.

Scottish learnt a few lessons here about filling and handing in results sheets, wearing identifiable uniforms, and not having so many people deciding within a half an hour of the start, it seemed, to run!  Great enthusiasm, but tough for the organisers to sort out afterwards. Fortunately most of the information has come together on the Olympic site (thanks to several nights' work by Chris Speakman). I've reproduced it below.  Some of my spelling of the names of newer runners may be wrong.  Still not perfect, I suspect. But we're running out of information sources.
