University Relay, Turkey Trot 6k Road Walk, Juniors Race, QEII Park, McKays Crossing, Paekakariki, 17 May 2008

We had 14 running teams out in QEII Park today, Chocolate Walkers, some J-teamers, for a total of perhaps 70 members. Beautiful weather, good atmosphere, well run event. The Scottish top M19 and M teams fought it out over the four legs with Turbo Glenn Hughes coming through in the end. Our first women's team was narrowly beaten by the WHAC W19 team (entered as a W team). A few J-teamers and M16s also ran in the junior scratch race. These included Keegan McLeod. 

The results include an average-per-k time based on assuming about 4k per lap (which feels about right!). | Photos of the Della Laird and Glenn Hughes. 

The Chocolate Walk results to come, but there were some remarkable performances by Murray Gowans, Melanie Watson and Peter Baillie who were all just a few seconds outside of their estimated times over 6k without a watch.
