Walking Links

Here are some of the many links to websites that may be of interest to walkers. I have taken the liberty to make some comments on, or my opinion of, the sites (Bart).

Coolrunning: All the NZ events – when, where, etc. http://www.coolrunning.co.nz/

Athletics New Zealand : For those “official” walking events http://www.athletics.org.nz/calevent.html

New Zealand Race-walking Association : The only real thing on this site is the application form to join the NZ Race-walking Association. http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Dome/7036/index.html

New Zealand Centurions Club: Not all that up to date. At the bottom of the page is a list of all the World Centurion Clubs and Ultra-distance Walking sites http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Dome/7036/centur.html

Long Distance Walking and Trekking: A general interest hiking and walking site with many articles on nutrition, training, injuries, clothing, shoes, hiking holidays, etc. There is quite an extensive page on marathons, half-marathons especially for inexperienced walkers or for those needing additional information. http://walking.about.com/od/longdistance/

The Walking Connection: This is more of a general walking and hiking site of special interest for those interested in adventure vacations http://www.walkingconnection.com/

Walking.org: Another very good site of general walking and hiking information. Some good hints and tips. http://www.walking.org/

More links that may interest you

Race Walking International – Quite a good site with latest international race-walking results. http://www.worldwidewalkers.net/

Race Walking Record - the R.W.A's Monthly Magazine. This is NOT a list or records for race walking but rather an interesting news website based on a magazine called the “Race-walking Record.” http://www.racewalkingrecord.com

U.K. race walking discussion group run by Tim Watt. http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/racewalk

Walking with Wendy U.S.A. Site on all types of walking including race walking http://walking.about.com/recreation/walking/cs/rwclubs

Walking Resources - Directory of walking-related web sites. There are some OK and some waste of time (freestyle walking) – you may find the site funny or strange. http://www.the-sports-arena.com/Walking
