Women's Challenge

The 2003 Challenge is now over. 28 women participated over the 28 weeks of the harrier season with quite varied training programmes resulting in hours at both ends of the scale. Some of our women are multi-sporters so their running/walking are quite low, compared with those that are long-distance specialists. And of course, injuries and illness played a significant role as well. Roll on summer!

7 Day Challenge: Congratulations to: Brenda Burke (9.2 days), Emma Curran (7.2), Robyn Stansfield (7.4) and Suzanne Cookson (7.3). They passed the 3-day mark fairly early in the season and just kept on going!

3 Day Challenge: Congratulations also to: Amelia De Lorenzo (5.6 days), Bev Hodge (5.8), Ceallaigh Rodway (5), Emma Brooks (4.2), Heidi-Jane Humphries (4), Helen Willis (5.3), Jac Mathieson (3.6), Jenny Campbell (6.8), Karen Evans (3.9), Karen Jenkinson (3.5), Kristeene Parkes (3), Loretta Desourdy (3.2), Mary Lynch (5.6), Maryanne Palmer (4.8), Rebecca Coutts-Buys (3.5), Tui Patterson (3.5)

Congratulations to all the women who took part. They walked or ran for a total of 2875 hours during the season – that’s nearly 120 days!

Spot prizes were awarded as follows:

Reading Cinema (4x2 tickets): Amelia De Lorenzo, Caroline West, Emma Curran, Mary Lynch

Rialto Cinema (3x2 tickets): Fiona MacMaster, Jacqueline Mathieson, Brenda Burke

* Unfortunately, this ticket expired before the prize-giving so Kristeene has been sent a Scottish Beanie in its place.
