Supporters’ Trust – helping our runners go further
Back in 1996, Wellington Scottish set up the Supporters’ Trust with a simple goal: to help our runners reach their potential.
The Trust steps in where money might otherwise hold athletes back. It helps our top runners get to major New Zealand races and supports those aiming for big overseas events too.
We focus especially on our younger runners — the ones with big dreams but smaller budgets. We give them extra support so they can perform well. It’s a system that works, and donors know exactly where their money goes.
The Trust is a formal charitable trust where all donations qualify for a tax rebate.
Why your support matters
Over the years, the trust has helped Scottish athletes compete at some of the world’s biggest events — the Olympics, World Champs, World Cross Country, mountain running, major marathons, and countless national championship races.
A fresh start
To remain one of New Zealand’s strongest clubs, we need to keep attracting top athletes and giving them reasons to join, stay, and succeed. That includes reviving our Senior Women’s squad and strengthening all areas of the club.
Wellington Scottish Athletics Club has committed to donating $5,000 to kick-start things — but to truly make a difference, we need your support too.
How you can help
By donating, you directly support athletes who are training hard, chasing big goals, and representing our club with pride on national and international stages. Every contribution — big or small — lifts someone higher.
Join us
The trust will host a social event each year so members can hear updates, meet guest speakers, and see firsthand the impact of your support.
